Step by step

## One complete example.

1. 01

   ### Collect your rules

Start from the guidelines, underwriting rules, contract standards and review checklists your team already uses.
2. 02

   ### Have them set up as checks

Your rules are configured as automated checks during onboarding, so the platform reviews contracts the way your team already does. Most teams are live in about 4 business days.
3. 03

   ### Upload the contracts to review

Upload policies, treaties, endorsements and I&Ls, or bring them in from SharePoint, a virtual data room or S3.
4. 04

   ### Run the review

Each document is checked against every rule. The result shows which rules are met, which language is missing and where wording deviates.
5. 05

   ### Resolve the flags

Open each flag to see the cited clause, then accept, query or escalate it. Decisions are recorded in the audit log.

## Questions that could stop you

Does it make the underwriting decision?

No. It applies your rules consistently and shows the evidence. The underwriter or reviewer decides what to do with each flag.

What if our guidelines are informal or scattered?

Bring what you have, such as checklists, referral rules or a standards document. They are turned into checks during onboarding.

Can it check the whole portfolio, not just new contracts?

Yes. Upload existing contracts as well as new ones, and the same checks run across all of them.

Is our contract wording used to train AI models?

No. Customer contracts, prompts, outputs and embeddings derived from customer data are not used to train, retrain or fine-tune generally available or third-party foundation models.

Who can see the documents?

Access is controlled with role-based permissions and every action is recorded in audit logs. Ultrassure can support SSO, including Microsoft Entra ID, and is SOC 2 Type II certified. See the [Trust Center](https://ultrassure.com/trust).

Do we need a paid plan to try this?

You can [try Ultrassure free](https://ultrassure.com/try) with no credit card, or [book a demo](https://ultrassure.com/demo) and see this workflow run on your own documents. Plans for production use are scoped with you on the demo.

## When you don’t need Ultrassure

If your guidelines are a short checklist applied to a few standard forms, a manual checklist may be enough. Ultrassure helps when the rules are long, documents come in many formats, and you need the same standard applied to every contract with evidence of each check.
